Fowey provides a safe, convenient, and picturesque anchorage for hundreds of yachts during the summer months. The most popular spot in all Fowey is the Town Quay To the left the steep hillside at Bodinnick is covered from summit to water’s edge in rich, dark green foliage.
Opposite is the lovely wooded creek of Pool Pill, while, to the right lies picturesque Polruan. Between is the deep ultramarine of the Fowey estuary—plus all the colourful animation of a busy harbour. On a bright, sunny morning it is, indeed, a very lovely picture.
The large mechanical jetty at Carne Point is capable of loading bulk clay from railway wagons into a ship’s hold at the rate of 240 tons per hour. By an ingenious system of belt conveyers and a travelling tower to carry the chute, a vessel may be loaded at all her hatchways in turn without being moved at all. Lovers of beauty rejoice that the commercial portion of the river is as much out of sight as possible, beyond the now defunct railway station.

"Mevagissey to Fowey Passenger Ferry"

The Fowey to Mevagissey passenger ferry, now in its third season, is a 360hp single screw Offshore 105 licensed by the MCA to carry 35 passengers.
The service runs daily between Fowey and Mevagissey from May through September, weather and sea conditions permitting. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes.
As well as offering a convenient public transport link between the two towns, it offers a great day out to holidaymakers based on one or other side of St Austell Bay.
