Port Isaac unspoilt fishing village whose white painted and slate-hung houses run down the steep sides of a Coombe to the sheltered harbour. There is a network of alleyways, some extremely narrow, one called Squeeze-ee-belly Alley. Cellars and a shingle beach an unspoilt fishing harbour since the Middle Ages on the rugged North Cornwall coast only 7miles from Wadebridge on the Delabole road. The old village is set in a steep sided valley with narrow alleys between the unspoilt huddle of slate cottages and old pilchard cellars. The small shingle beach with several working crabbers faces an old inn. Port Isaac was the location for the famous Poldark TV series and more recently Doc Martin Restricted access for vehicles protects the old world charm of the village. Parking is available at the top of the hill with distant views of Tintagel to the east.
