Tintagel is a village on the Atlantic coast famous for its association with King Arthur. Older buildings built before the Victorian Era seem to emerge from the ground keeping low to gain shelter from the storms that sweep over the coast in winter.

The castle remains stand partly on the cliffs and partly on a narrow split of land, this was actually built in 1145 for the Earl of Cornwall. Paths descend from the village to a shingle beach and Merlin's Cave.

On the Bude estuary, also from the rocks and beaches all along the coast. The Bude Canal is a noted coarse water. River fishing includes stretches of the Ottery, Inny, Camel and Tamar.

Sailing
Sailing on the Camel Estuary. Harbour authorities should be consulted about off shore sailing.

Surfing
At Bude and Widemouth, with frequent venues for the National Surfing championships Trebarwith Strand, about a mile south of Tintagel is good for ordinary surfing.		 The Hidden Valley Discovery Park a great day out. Follow the clues around the old shacks in the mining settlement and search for hidden treasures with family and friends. Also a Woodland walk, play and picnic area, tea rooms, miniature railway, ride on the light railway. Coarse Fishing. Open in season 10 till 5.30 allow 2-3hours to do the challenge.
