Salcombe is a beautiful small coastal town on the south coast of Devon. At the mouth of the Kingsbridge Estuary Salcombe is sheltered from the south west and the the south east giving a Mediterranean climate. Most frequented now by yachtmen Salcombe retains its seafaring connections as it was a hive of industry building schooners until the late 1800s. Above the old town a few hotels have been developed and it has become a location well worth visiting for the walks and sailing.
