Wareham is an attractive Anglo-Saxon market town and river port town sited on a low ridge between the rivers Frome and Piddle, protected by large earth ramparts. Wareham is a favourite resort for small boat enthusiasts.

Being situated just above Frome marshes, between the outlets of the two rivers flowing into Poole harbour allows young fishermen to cast safely from the banks of the river, it is also a pleasant place to picnic and watch the tall mast boats.
